So, how to create tab groups automatically in Edge browser?

Usually around 50 to 100 tabs are always opened in my Microsoft Edge. So, it will be easier for me to organize tabs into groups.

Suppose if multiple tabs of the same website (Ex. YouTube) are opened at different locations in Edge toolbar, then after tab grouping, all tabs will become side-by-side being part of a single tab group.

So, click on ‘Tab Actions Menu’ button in toolbar, then select ‘Group similar tabs (preview)’ option. Instantly, you will get a preview of the created tab groups.

Microsoft Edge released the new feature of automatic tab grouping through AI in October 2023.

In my test, Microsoft Edge (MS Edge) automatically combined all relevant tabs into each related group.

Click on ‘three dots’ next to a group name to change the group name and its assigned group color.

If Microsoft Edge adds some unwanted tabs in a wrong group, simply hold and drag those tabs and move them at desired location between tab groups.

You can also drag a tab group to change its position among other groups.

You can also press ‘Ctrl’ key on keyboard, select specific tabs, and then move them combined to any other tab group.

You can right click on a tab to remove it from the group or move it to any other tab group.

When you are happy, click the ‘Group tabs’ button.

On a created tab group, right click for more useful options.
