Cancel Skype Number on a Computer
To cancel your Skype Number on a desktop computer or a laptop:
Open Skype Dashboard and Sign in.
Navigate to the Manage features section and choose Skype Number.
Click on the Settings link associated with your Skype Number.
In the Billing information section, select the Cancel Skype Number link.
Indicate your reason for cancellation, then click the Cancel Skype Number button.
After cancellation, Skype will hold your Skype Number for 90 days on your account before it becomes available to others. You can reactivate it.
Cancel Skype Number on Skype Mobile App
This approach is helpful if you have acquired a Skype Number by making a payment directly through your Microsoft account.
To cancel your Skype Number using the Skype mobile app:
Tap on your profile picture.
Then Tap the Skype Number, you want to cancel.
On the next screen, tap the “Settings” button under the Skype Number.
On the next screen, tap the "Manage or Cancel Your Skype Number” option.
In the Billing information section, select the Cancel Skype Number link
Cancel Skype Number on Android Phone
If you purchased Skype Number subscription through Google Play,
Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
Tap on your profile picture in the top right corner.
Select “Payments & subscriptions” from the menu.
Tap “Subscriptions” to see all your active subscriptions.
Choose the Skype from the options.
Tap “Cancel subscription” and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm.
Cancel Skype Number on iPhone
If you purchased Skype Number subscription on your iPhone or iPad,
Open the Settings app.
Tap your Name.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap the Skype option.
Tap Cancel Subscription.

Is it possible to switch the Skype Number subscription from a monthly to an annual payment plan?
No.
I have attempted various methods, but unfortunately, you cannot change the payment plan for the Skype Number. Initially, I cautiously subscribed to the monthly Skype Number plan on a trial basis to determine if it could receive Amazon verification codes. After confirming that Skype Number is useful for receiving the SMS verification codes from Amazon, I wanted to upgrade to the more cost-effective annual plan. However, I learned that changing the payment plan for a Skype Number is not possible, as confirmed by a Microsoft support article.
To address this issue, I permanently canceled my Skype Number and then purchased a new one with the annual payment option. I also updated my Amazon account with the new Skype Number for two-step phone verification.
